Try This - Rosary Campaign

“Try This” is an initiative by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles to encourage a devotion to the rosary. The name comes from the personal experience of LA based screenwriter Rafael Alvarez's life, when a nun handed him a rosary during a difficult time and said “try this”. Rafael credits his return to the Catholic faith, along with his sobriety to the praying of the rosary. The “Try This” campaign hopes to inspire people to try the Rosary and discover the peace and healing it offers. Read more at trythis.lacatholics.org

The Chief Digital Officer and Creative Director from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles approached me to help design a prayer postcard that could be shared with anyone who may be interested with the rosary. The branding elements (Logo, Colors, Overall Style) were already established, so I worked to create something that expanded and helped actualize them. We explored various photography and illustrative styles for the front of the postcard, and worked within the limited space in the back of the card to include instructions on how to pray the rosary. The end product was something that we were proud to print and share.
